Last Saturday night I had some girlfriends over to watch the Royal wedding of Meghan and Harry. Frocking up was optional but we all dressed up in our own fashion. Op shop fashion that is.

It’s a bit hard to see the detail of my frock but it’s a 70s original I bought from an op shop about a year ago. I was out on a lunch and shopping day with 3 girlfriends and I’d had no luck in all the op shops we’d been to until this one. As soon as I walked in I saw it. Tried it on and it fit perfectly. As I still had the rest of the shop to look through I left it with the front counter to buy when I left. But when I went to buy it, it wasn’t there. Some eager shop assistant had put it back. Luckily it was still hanging up so I was still able to buy it for $20.

It’s black. Maybe not appropriate to wear to a royal wedding, but this was a royal wedding with a difference so I figure my choice would fit right in.

It was made in Sydney Australia – a Silver Star.

And while you can’t see the sparkle (a sparkle for a Markle), it certainly does glitter and I love this detail on the skirt and the sleeves.
