I was invited to a Clambake recently and the dress theme revolved around the movie of the same name starring Elvis Presley.

I ran with my interpretation of a more formal outfit to suit the period and it was an excuse to wear this frock again. I haven’t worn it for a long time.

I bought this home-made vintage outfit from the Camden Lock markets when I was there in 2000. It has the matching bolero and the fabric combination is just gorgeous. I wouldn’t say the style of it really suits me, but I don’t care.

I bought it because of the fabric. Who would have thought that paisley and roses go together, but they do.

And I wore a recent shoe purchase because the colours matched and it added a bit of bling.

So the whole outfit, including my ring was pre-loved.

And the night turned out to be a lot of fun. I’ll have to watch Clambake again now.

When I saw your post on Patti’s Visible Monday I had to come over and tell you how much I love this dress set. And I do think it looks great on you. The print is fabulous. The shoes are so cute. I totally love the idea of a clambake based around an Elvis movie. That is the kind of party that is right up my alley!
